Prof. Hambly Odame's research focuses on communication and learning processes in agriculture, environment and rural development, both internationally and in Canada. Gender analysis of household and community issues in rural areas has also been a focus in her work.

Bio/Research

Prof. Hambly Odame's research focuses on communication and learning processes in agriculture, environment and rural development, both internationally and in Canada. Gender analysis of household and community issues in rural areas has also been a focus in her work.

Systems thinking strongly influence her field of scholarship and specifically, the concept of systems of innovation to enhance agriculture and rural societies.

Internationally, she is involved in research on emerging technologies for development and rural radio (especially in South Asia & Africa), agroforestry extension in Ghana and DR-Congo, and more theoretical work on systems of innovation in global agriculture. In Canada, Prof. Hambly Odame concentrate on rural broadband uptake in Ontario and community media partnerships for equity and sustainability.
