Bio/Research
Dr. Preyde engages in collaborative research with clinicians including social workers, nurses, psychiatrists and psychologists. Her research activity in children's mental health includes a focus on children and youth who are accessing or have accessed intensive mental health treatments (hospital- and community-based programs), the short- and long-term outcomes of these children and youth, their family dynamics, the continuum of care in the community, and access to social support. Preyde's research activity in mental health has included evaluation of interventions, the long-term adaptation of children and youth with serious emotional and behavioural problems, and experiences of mental illness.
