Dr. Brunet's research focuses on developing the understanding of the processes and outcomes of environmental decision-making. In particular, he is interested in the role of diverse knowledge systems and approaches (citizen science, community-based monitoring (CBM), environmental guardians) in achieving resilient social-ecological systems at community and regional scales.
Much of his research is co-developed with Indigenous and northern agencies and governments in Canada and focuses on the governance of wildlife and plants of cultural and economic significance. He is a candidate for the Registered Professional Planner.
