Dr. Vyn's primary research interest is rural property values. He also studies agricultural policy, agriculture marketing, and profitability analyses of production practices. He has conducted studies on the impacts of wind turbines on property values and the effect of
of the Greenbelt on farmland prices and rural residential property prices. He teaches in the agriculture diploma program at Ridgetown Campus.
He completed a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from U of G in 2007. Previously, Dr. Vyn worked as a production economist for Alberta Agriculture, Food & Rural Development. He grew up on a cash-crop farm just outside of Guelph.
