Appleby explores the role of artificial intelligence within veterinary diagnostic imaging to improve the efficiency of imaging and reduce medical errors.
Artificial intelligence is in its early stages in veterinary medicine and Dr. Appleby’s work centres around establishing methods to improve the quality of images acquired and the efficiency of veterinary radiologists.
His research has also explored imposter phenomenon in the veterinary profession, as well as renal disease in cats.
Appleby is the co-ordinator of the Companion Animal Rotating Internship at OVC.
