Dr. Appleby explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) within veterinary diagnostic imaging to improve the efficiency of imaging and reduce medical errors.
AI is in its early stages in veterinary medicine and Appleby’s work centres around establishing methods to improve the quality of images acquired and the efficiency of veterinary radiologists.
Appleby's lab also explores the role of AI in broader veterinary practice including the use of Scribes in clinical work and large language models as a learning tool.
Appleby's past research has also explored imposter phenomenon in the veterinary profession, as well as renal disease in cats.
