Dr. Seah's lab studies the structures and functions of enzymes involved in steroid, lignin, aromatic pollutants and fungal toxin degradation. Some of these enzymes may be antibiotic targets against pathogenic bacteria, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis. These may also be harnessed to remove toxins and pollutants from the environment or food crops.
