Dr. Gohar's research interests are in public health with an emphasis on workplace mental health and occupational health. He conducts 'prevention-focused' research that helps identify and understand adverse outcomes in the workplace. Much of his ongoing research focuses on improving staff retention in healthcare (human and animal) to optimize the healthcare system and, by extension, improve service provision. Other areas of interest include sickness absence, and the impact of morally distressing events in healthcare. He is a registered clinical psychologist in Ontario.
