Bio/Research

Dr. Macaulay's research focuses on the norms and assumptions that influence individuals' decision making within organizations and how we disrupt those processes in the sport industry. He has studied how athletes navigate significant changes to governance (NIL, employment, etc.), how athletes engage in activism and the outcomes of those actions, and how leaders of sport organizations respond to athlete activism. Further, his research often explores how marginalized populations experience the sporting world.
