Bio/Research
Dr. Thomas' research has been in the general area of surface science and materials science, studying nanoscale properties and features. Most recently his work has been with solid oxide fuel cells and their application to vehicle engines. He has also been studying the process of learning among students in higher education with a view to improve student learning in the chemical sciences.
Thomas holds a B.Sc. from the University of Alberta and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Washington before coming to U of G.
