Dr. Powell is an industrial-organizational psychologist whose expertise lies in personnel selection. Her current research investigates factors that influence employment interview performance, such as interview anxiety, and impression management.
Most recently, she has investigated factors that affect interview performance, including interview anxiety, which negatively affects performance, and impression management (honest and deceptive), which tends to increase interview performance.
Her research also looks at personality testing and integrity testing in selection contexts.
