Dr. Arndt’s research includes strategy, entrepreneurship, international business and innovation. He looks at how firms use organizational renewal and technological innovation (including digitalization) to stay ahead of the competition (dynamic capabilities, ecosystems, business models).

Bio/Research

Dr. Arndt’s research includes strategy, entrepreneurship, international business and innovation. He looks at how firms use organizational renewal and technological innovation (including digitalization) to stay ahead of the competition (dynamic capabilities, ecosystems, business models).

His second field of interest is best captured by the question of how entrepreneurs overcome extreme challenges (ex. of socio-economic or medical nature).

His third area of interest incorporates the management of MNEs in emerging markets and the co-evolution of institutions and entrepreneurship in emerging markets. Some of his research uses corporate social responsibility questions and the context of contested industries (tobacco, nuclear power, weapons etc.).

His work has been published in the "Academy of Management Review", the "Journal of Business Ethics", the "Journal of Business Venturing Insights, Industrial and Corporate Change", "Entrepreneurship and Regional Development", "Technological Forecasting and Social Change", and "Technovation" among others.

Ardnt is a senior editor at the "Journal of Management & Organisation" and is on the editorial board of journals such as the "Journal of Management", "Journal of Product Innovation Management", and the "European Management Journal" among others. He has received grants from major research agencies in the UK, China, and Canada.

His work has frequently been featured in the media including news, radio, and TV.
