Bio/Research

Dr. Kolapo's principal research interest has been slavery and the 19th-century abolition of the slave trade in Africa. This then spawned his concurrent interest and work on European evangelical missionary involvement in the abolitionist movement and particularly the role of Indigenous African agents in 19th-century missionary effort to spread Christianity in Africa.

Kolapo has also taught courses related to his field of research on slavery and the slave trade, religion in Africa, forced and semi-coerced labour migration from Africa and more.
