Bio/Research

Dr. Puddister's work examines a wide range of issues related to courts, law and politics, comparative judicial politics, and criminal justice policy, with specific focus on the litigation behaviour of governments and instances where political actors rely on courts to make political and normative decisions.

Puddister holds a PhD in political science from McGill University as well as a MA in criminology and criminal justice policy from the University of Guelph. She has published work on a variety of topics related to criminal justice policy, such as the RCMP’s Mr. Big technique, sentencing policy, and the Criminal Code of Canada.
