Dr. Rowan Bell studies gender and gender norms and the nature of social construction. They are trained in analytic gender metaphysics, which is the study of the nature of gender in the abstract, but their recent work draws on queer and trans history, sociology, and critical race theory. In short, they're interested in the social construction of gender and gender variance. How do humans build gender together? How does it build us? How do we, individually and collectively, resist or exceed those practices?
