Dr. Durzi, is the chief veterinarian at the Fitness and Rehabilitation Service at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). She is interested in interest in nutrition and weight loss programs for dogs and cats, and is especially interested in integrative medicine and pain management, and in treating geriatric pets with chronic pain.
Durzi is a certified veterinary acupuncturist through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, a certified canine rehabilitation therapist through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute, and a certified veterinary pain practitioner through the International Academy of Pain Management. Currently she is currently pursuing her board certification in canine/feline medicine through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP).
After graduating from the OVC in 2000, Durzi began her career working at a mixed animal practice in southern Ontario. In 2001, she moved to the Cayman Islands where she practiced small animal medicine and surgery for seven and a half years in private practice. In 2009, she joined the faculty at St. Matthew's University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grand Cayman, where she focused on clinical teaching.
In 2010, she returned to the OVC, this time to take a position as a primary care veterinary educator at the OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital.
Durzi is the recipient of the prestigious 2016 Merial Award of Excellence in Clinical Teaching.
